Stan Davis: Music

Little Church

(Stan Davis & Friends - lead vocal: Fran Bitonti)
music & lyrics by Stan Davis
This song is about the little pink church ornament that has passed down several generations in my wife, Nancy's, family.
Every year when we put up the tree
And then haul out the decorations
I find the one that’s most special to me
A family treasure for generations

It may not be the brightest décor
Chances are you may not even see it
But no adornment has ever meant more
It has a spirit I truly adore

Little church (our little church)
So precious and dear
Little church (our little church)
Brings my family near
It may look plain and undistinguished
But what makes it so rare
Is all the laughter and memories
And love that we shared
With our little church

And when the season is done
And the ornaments gone
All of the memories we shared will live on (and on)

Far too soon, we will take down the tree
And put back all the decorations
But ‘til then, we’ll make more memories
Sharing new family celebrations

Little church (our little church)
So precious and dear
Little church (our little church)
Brings my family near
It may look plain and undistinguished
But what makes it so rare
Is all the laughter and memories
And love that we shared
With our little church
